I understand the stance bro hellaflush scene and bagging cars. But what I can’t wrap my head around is why people do it to super cars. Too many times I’ve seen a 458 or a GTR on three piece deep dish wheels and air ride suspension on the ground. Why? Do you have that much money that you don’t care about the way the car rides, I can’t imagine air ride suspension being an upgrade from stock suspension performance wise. Personally I just think those kinds of cars should be appreciated, not modified in the way a mk4 GTI is. Not saying you shouldn’t appriciate a GTI.. But to each his own.

Air suspension rides very well, and well over 50% of supercar owners could give half a shit about minute changes in handling. Plus air suspension is much more sophisticated than “back in the day”

I don’t understand it either. The whole stance thing in general that is.

There is either a tasteful drop, or making your car completely and utterly useless. Plus they claim to be enthusiasts, but their cars handle like fucking Conestoga wagons.

meh...as long as it’s not some horrid Liberty Walk creation, it’s fine with me

I don't mind the lowering of cars, like eliminating wheel gap. Excessive camber is too much for me. And that's my biggest problem with them, they like to call themselves enthusiasts. But if something isn't slammed, they don't like it.

I guess I just don’t have any experience with air ride suspension. So maybe I could understand it a bit more if I knew more. But still, I don’t want to see R8s and GTR’s on the ground

It’s not that as much, my A4 is lowered getting rid of most of the wheel gap, but the car is still perfectly usable and doesn’t look like it’s horribly broken.

And agreed on the second part also, “BLOOFDFGDFG, LOWER IT MORE.” The lower that a car gets beyond the point of improving the handling of the car is stupid. It’s substantially worse when people with no money decided that they should stance their cars, since then they just become flaming death traps instead of just regular deathtraps.

You pretty much answered your own rant there (I know it’s rhetorical). Some of these people have so much disposable money that they feel no sense of achievement until this much money is spent on some useless shit, and “this much money” is relatively chump change for these loaded d-bags. But no matter what though, money can’t buy taste or common sense.

There’s a difference between stances and slammed. So which are you talking about? If slammed, I am perfectly fine with that one. If stances I say they need to stop, some things they do border on dangerous.

I’m ok with stance. I’ll take it over cheap stick-on air intakes and bad under-glow.

I thought you understood the stance thing. The appeal of the look at the cost of suspension performance/compliance doesn’t disappear with an increase in car price. Those that do it to a 458 or GT-R have the same style goal that they’re going for as those stancing a MK IV GTI.

I don’t like it either, I’m just saying it’s the same thing.

Like stretched tires. And they do road trips on those. I wouldn’t do it. Stupid low I would do, but stretched tires, hell no.

The stretched tires and riding on sidewalks is what gets me. It also annoys me that while searching for air suspension for an upcoming project that one major brand caters to this crowd. It's disgusting
